  • Grade 1:
  • Birth Certificate Copy of the child.
  • Aadhar copy of the child. (If available)
  • Aadhar Copy of the parents.
  • 2 recent passport size photographs of the child.
  • Caste Certificate (Mandatory for all the categories except General category)

  • Grade 2 to Grade 10:

ACADEMICS…….

  • The Curriculum:

            We, Shastry Memorial English School is affiliated to State Board and Recognized by Government of Karnataka.

In SMES Curriculum, it has been so framed that the individual child is the core of the whole programme. An atmosphere of relaxed, easy human relationship between the students and the teachers pervades the classroom. The students are encouraged to get involved in the exciting adventure of learning through discussions, enquires and experimentations.

  • Medium of instruction:

            The Medium of instruction in our Esteemed Institution is English.

As language occupies a key position in the school curriculum. Further apart from its importance as a medium of learning other subjects at school. It also helps a child in communication and self-expression as children grow up, they need to express their ideas and opinions.

Subjects offered:

Main subjects: Kannada, English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social.

Optional languages: Kannada/English for (grade 7 to 10)

Additional Subjects: Abacus and Vedic Maths, Computer Science, Health      Education, Moral Values, Physical Education.

Extra-Curricular activities: Dance, Karate and Yoga.

  • Assessment and Evaluation:

Assessment is inclusive of both Formative and Summative Assessment.

Formative Assessment consists of projects, quiz, assignments and class interactions.

Summative Assessment consists of MCQs, short and long answers questions from the portions of that term.   

The Evaluation consists of 6 phases during the year.

First Term: FA – 01, FA – 02, & SA – 01

Second Term:FA – 03, FA – 04, & SA – 02

  • Method of Evaluation: Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is done through out the year, grades are awarded for students and promotions will be granted on this basis.

As per the instructions of Education Department we regularly update the students personal and academic information with marks, grades, attendance, health details and achievements in SATS (Student Achievement Tracking System).
